Food
Lombardia actually has two national foods, them being pasta and olives. Many people are shocked to not see pizza on the list, however this has a very specific reason, and that being that pasta is much more famous in in the entirety of the Italian peninsula, and the olives are some of the oldest foods that are still being eaten on a regular basis today, with olives having been mentioned to be found in the Mediterranean region over 6000 years ago.
The national foods that I have selected, due to their popularity and extreme age, really help connect the population of my country through the strong culture boosting abilities that food can have on people.
The national sport of my country is football, it is the most commonly played sport on the Italian peninsula and the top-tier Serie A league which plays with clubs from Lombardia and Italy is religiously followed among the entire population of the Italian population. When football fails to excite in the winter, skiing is another extremely famous sport that many people participate in when it's too cold out to play football.
Sports are team-building activities which can be used by people of different ethnicities, cultures, religions and nationalities to come together and have fun in ways that other activities just cannot. Sports are extremely important to people when it comes down to forming connections and getting new friends who they may have never met otherwise.

People (ethnicities)
Different types of people from different ethnicities bring their very own cultures to Lombardia to strengthen the culture of this country. They bring their own culture through their very own national foods and sports. They carry their own myths and legends from their homelands and they speak their language. It is always important to not be a mono-cultural country as this would fail to keep people on their toes learning about other people and learning about themselves constantly. Having many people of many ethnicities may be one of the most important things ever.
As I have explained in the paragraph itself, having different ethnicities will change the way people act and the way people enjoy their surroundings. It will draw in curiosity from people which will help them learn and keep them happy.
Lombardia has many myths and traditions, many of which date back all the way to the Roman empire. People still tell stories about fauns (half-man, half-goat) and mythical battles between the titans and the Gods, and how if you weren't careful, lares (Roman house ghosts) would haunt you. Myths and traditions are definitely some of the most important criteria when it comes to having a balanced and interesting culture. Some traditional and common festivals include: 1.Easter 2. Christmas 3. Halloween 4. Ramadan Some more local festivals include: Festival of Independence (18th of May): Celebrating the independence of the country after the victory of Milan in the 15th century. People usually parade on the streets and go into bars at night, the next day is usually a work day but nobody goes due to their physical conditions. Festival of the Fall of Turin (September 3rd-10th): Signalling the first time Lombardia could call itself a real nation people usually eat a lot of pasta during this week and become very, very tipsy on a daily basis. Massive parades are held in the streets as well a public celebrations. Myths and Traditions help people understand more about the country especially when they start joining in on the celebrations on Independence day. These kind of festivals can tell people more about the population than a thousand reports.

Language |
The national language is of course Italian, however German is also commonly spokes especially in the very north of the country where German is almost more common than Italian. Language helps bring people together as well as show distinct cuts in ethnicity.
I decided to give my country two main languages as it creates two different groups which can actually make people feel more as a community. Furthermore it creates more diversity in almost everything that has been stated above, which adds new and interesting layers to explore about the country.
