Overview
Lombardia is a state that originated during the 15th Century AD when Italian cities fought the Holy Roman Empire. From it's humble beginnings as the city of Genoa, the country steadily grew into the super-power it is in the modern day and age. Lombardia currently closes out the top five largest economies in the world at a GDP of US$3,142,000 with a steady GDP growth rate of 3.45%. Lombardia enjoys a fairly large size measuring in at 166 052 Kilometres squared in size which is shared between 10 states who all have their own small government. Tourism is a very large source of income for the country with attractions such as: the Dolomite Mountain range which features fantastically formed peaks (as seen left, source: Martin, flickr) all the way to the impossibly steep cliffs of the Amalfi Coast to the tranquil canals of the city of Venice. Lombardia enjoys around 40 million tourists each year which come to take home a slice of beauty. These slices of beauty are protected by the strong emphasis that is put on keeping the country clean as well as punishing all illegal activities which could damage nature to ensure that wildlife is well taken care of in Lombardia. These laws are enforced by the well-equipped police force, with Lombardia being the only country in the world which requires every citizen between the ages 20-21 to participate in service for their local police force to not only enforce the law, but help them understand it better as well. Military service is not obliged as Lombardia keeps peace with as many countries as possible. Children will be taught from young ages that keeping peace is the way to success during their studies on religion where no religion is given any sort of praise that other religions do not receive. Everyone is treated equally, that is the unofficial motto of Lombardia.
